Google Knows All

Uncategorized — nibaq on August 26, 2004 at 4:44:12

We all use Google, some of us live and die by it’s search results
. We all know that they keep track of all the se
arch requests
people do.

There has been lots of speculation and questions on what Google remebers about people. It has been nom
inated for a Big Brother Nominatio
n
with alisting aqusations and their verdict on it. There is even a site dedicated to monitoring G
oogle called Google Watch; who keep track of Google’s monop
oly, algorithms, and privacy policies.

But what does Google know about you?

So should we be worried? Well according to their
Corporate Information
they believe in that “You can make money without doing evil”. That was befo
re they went public.

So I guess we have to wait and see on what Google does next. It has gained our trust and love and that
can be easily lost with one wrong move.

Spin Spin

Did spinning earlier tonight it was great. I been slacking on going to the gym for the past two weeks
just being busy and finding excuses to say I will go tomorrow.

Trying to figure out a schedule for myself since I just been doing an aerobic work out with spinning,
and want to get into the weights now. Think I will do the body for life method. It’s a very simple wor
k out regime that offers results.

I am looking lose some weight gain some muscle tone, and really just feel healthier. Though I wouldn’t
mind getting some broader shoulders.

All in good time I just need to stick with it and the results will come.

Wow

Any which way but loose

I went to get some physio therapy for my back at this place called the HOPE Medical Center. It was gre
at, really got rid stiffness and pain that I was having. They placed a heat pack on my back first to w
arm up my muscles. Then some electricity on my back muscles to stimulate them. Afterwards a good relax
ingmassage that loosened everything up.

The doctor gave me some basic streches and little excercises to do at work to help relieve my muscles
and get them moving. He said the pain and stuff could be stress related or that I been on the desk too
long. Which I have been doing these past couple weeks.

He also told me to excercise tomorrow or come back for another treatment. I am going to excercise. I b
een bad the past two weeks cause of work and other things that have been coming up. A good sweaty work
out is what I need to kill the long work day stress.

Tomorrow Spinning!

Brain Washing the Brain Washed

Kuwait — nibaq on August 23, 2004 at 14:52:39

Khaleej Times repots that Kuwait is forming “teams of experts
and clerics to draw up plans to combat extremism and terrorism” to deal with the youth of Kuwait that
has been getting caught trying to get in Iraq to fight the US as well as the extremism in Kuwait that
has reached a “dangerous level”.

A number of clerics and preachers will spearhead the campaign to rectify wrong (religious) ideas embra
ced by the youth, Abdullatif Senan, director of the awareness and guidance department at the ministry
of social affairs, said.

Then you got Middle East News > reporting that Kuwait is investigating Mosque preachers that are spreading “Al Qaida ideology”.

You know if the government was more strict on controlling these Islamics and their diatribes instead o
f trying to get their votes. We wouldn’t be needing to form comitees or investigations to deal with th
is problem, cause the youth would have been taught right in the first place.

Owning a Piece of Kuwait

Kuwait — nibaq on August 23, 2004 at 14:21:10

Seems Kuwait is going to let GCC citzens to own real eastate in Kuwait, and non-kuwaitis the ability t
o own shares in public companies. This is a good first step in opening up Kuwait but addiotnally it cr
eated accounability and trust. No one will want to invest in a company where wasta is the way things g
et done. They won’t see a return on investment from it and will put their money in another country.

We shouldn’t stop there. I think we should allow even non GCC citzens to own real estate. I know so ma
ny people who have 3 generations of their family living or lived in Kuwait. It people like that that
deserve to own a home in Kuwait.

Some people may not like random strangers owning homes in Kuwait, so we can create a compromise for it
. That the person who wants to buy real estate has to have lived and worked in Kuwait for certain numb
er of years to show they have history in Kuwait. Or they can not really own, but have a long term leas
e plan. The long term lease is how Dubai is selling their real estate and many other countries do it.
It is a working valid model.

They are a lot of options and many compromises that can be done to ease the people who are against in
to the idea. My feeling is that if non-citzens own a piece of Kuwait then they are in it for the long
haul and help making Kuwait better.

Mmmm My music is here. I have so much stuff its not even funny at times. F
rom Pat Boone in a Metal Mood to German Big Band radio advertisements from 60 & 70s then we got some n
o name punk bands next to Om Kalthom, NWA, Frank Zappa, the complete David Bowie discography, Mozart,
Joy Division, Norwegian Death Metal, Pink Floyd, Ella Fitzgerald, Coldcut, gothic-pop Japanese bands,
Phish, Willie Nelson, Johny Cash. Just ons of soundtracks and compilations. Its like a treasure trove
of sound.

Sigh the list just goes on, and this isn’t the stuff I have on mp3, or my stuff on tape and on LPs.

Now I can listen to my music, whenever I am in the mood for a certain song or style I can access it. B
efore I would say damnit I dont have my stuff and regret not having it and finding a subsititue to dis
tract me.

So next step ripping all these cds, then figuring out how many iPods I need so I can take my music wit
h me when I travel.

Ugh

Sleep?

Uncategorized — nibaq on August 22, 2004 at 12:45:02

I am not sure about my sleeping habbits as of late. They been quite erratic and down to 4 hours and I
ussually goto bed aroudn 4-5am.

I think it is down to a couple reasons:

1) I stopped eating a heavy Kuwaiti lunch.
This is a huge factor cause whenever I have a carb bomb of a meal with rice potatoes etc I am so knock
ed out afterwards that I have to go catch some Zs on the couch for a couple hours.

2)My shutter is broken
At nights I would close my shutter making my room pitch black. Now its broken so I am ussualy having t
he shades pulled up allowing all the light in. And even when I have them down the light still comes in
. So instead of waking up to darkness, I am waking up with the sunrise. So my body is waking up natura
lly.

3)Excercise
I dont think this is much of a factor, but I have been doing those spinning classes. Every little bit
does stuff.
