Here is an intresting and some what pointless product:
Sprayonmud

As the name states its mud in a spray can. It was so made for those weekend warriors who own SUVs but never take them out and really take them to the limit just use them for home->office->food etc.

But then something caught my eye:

Sprayonmud is NOT to be used to obscure number-plates or the lights on your vehicle.

What a great idea! This beats those invisible sprays to cover your plates, medical so when the radar cameras go off it just captures a white area around it.

For this is actual mud, you can just smear it on your car, and drive as fast as you want and know the camera won’t catch your number. It will hide the numbers and when the cops see it will just think you been taking your car to some dirty places.

Watches and people and why did I stop wearing one for a year, no rx then buy the regular swatch.

Been thinking of this thing I am calling it “close to zero” its about relationships, website but not in terms of people and such, oncology but information, time and locations. The concept is that these social networks that are going around Friendster, Orkut, etc are the wrong thing. Cause in this day and age who you know doesn’t matter. Does it matter than I am 4 degrees away from Bill Clinton? Is there any real benefit from that? I can’t just call him and say “hey I am a friend of so and so, who is a friend of ….” you get the picture.

With information is is different, its more dynamic and about information, and with information you can make educated decisions, which is the basis of capitalism. You see the level of information people will get will be equal and it will lead to perfect competition.

So some examples.

Ok… So lets say a fire started in your house and you were right there. Who is the first person you call? The fire station, then I am sure close family/friends. The fire station and your family and friends are within what I call “0 minute” of the event. That means within a minute of it happening they were informed. Then we have “0 hour” this could be when you neighbors coming home see the smoke and fire within an hour of it happening. Then a reporter comes from the news paper and writes about what happened and takes picture of it and its in the next days paper and people read it. Then they are in “0 day” since it occurred within a day of it happening. Then someone reads the article online a week later, they are “0-week” within a week of it happening.

So consider your relationships with your information sources, parents, friends, the news etc. and think about where are you in the relationship. Are you part of the event happening, or are you a minute, week or month. When does information reach you?

  1. I can’t remember the last time I wore a watch. It’s been at least a few years. I tried when I first got here but I was so unaccustomed to wearing them that I destroyed it within the first few weeks of my arrival.

As far as information goes, it depends on the point of origin. I’m “0-minute” when it comes to my house being on fire, as is the fire department. But I’m much further away when it comes to the fire department (e.g. if it were to catch on fire). Most of my information comes from the internet. The amount of time between when I receive information and then the actualy event took place is determined by more factors than I can even fathom. I’m only 0-minute to things that are immediately and physically affective. Such is the life of a hermit, I’m afraid.

But back to the point, I don’t wear watches because they interfere too much with typing on a laptop (and they tend to scratch the laptops). :p
