Swimming with the Fishes

I am so impressed with this artistic quality and style that I want one for my bathtub, if I had a bathtub.
This guy has the whole cast of Finding Nemo as a mosaic in his swimming pool and it is really stunning. It really makes finding Nemo a lot easier.

Had so many funerals to attend today and they are all over the places at times and in the most hidden of places. This is one of the main reasons I love my navigation system in the car. Punch in the address and I have a direct route to the house saving me lots of time.

Radio Humid

General, Kuwait — nibaq on July 19, 2005 at 8:34:15

I dont know what is with me this morning, I dont want to get out of my bed or the house. I woke up at 6:54 and just stayed in bed, I knew there was humidity outside Marina FM kept reminding it me of. Seems the weather we are having is making it hard to catch Zubaidi fish and making Kuwaiti fish products more expensive compared to their Iranian counterparts.

Just earlier the DJs were making jokes about the weather “dont bother taking a shower, just go outside and walk around for a bit”. This is the big difference between Marina and 99.7. Marina talks to you, trades jokes like a friend. 99.7 will bitch and moan and tell you what to do. I am sure that morning person would be reminding people to wear seat belts, drive carefully and other mindless drivel. I am sure there is a direct positive correlation between people listening to 99.7 and accidents in Kuwait.

Hmm its humid I wonder if we can pick up other radio stations from the gulf today.

Kuwait Tidbits

General, Kuwait — nibaq on July 18, 2005 at 19:05:23

Did a random serach for Kuwait in the news and found some 2 good tidbits.

First one is that a Kuwaiti girl aged 19 has just become the first female pilot of Kuwait!. This is great first for womens right. Already this year they got the vote, a minister, and now a female pilot, all is missing is an astronaut.

The other news topic that caught my eye was: The US ambassador in Kuwait may be moving to Israek. This is very promising news for this guy been everywhere in the Middle East, he served in Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi and Kuwait. He could really be a benifit for the communication between Arabs and Israel as well as help in the peace talks. Cause I feel the major in the talks is Israel doesnt care what the Palestenians offer they been dealing with them for over 50 years and have nothing of value to offer Israel. The only way peace can be achived if other Arab countries join in these talks.

Azerbaijan to assist Kuwait in develope tourism strategy. Did I read that right Azebaijan? If it was UAE, I would understand, France, great, Egypt sure. but Azerbaijan? I never heard anything about them to go visit them.

I have never been more angry at a book than this time. I thought Orson Scott Cards Xenocide was bad, but it was more annoying than anything. But JK Rowlings latest Harry Potter book the Half Blood Prince is the Empire Strikes Back of books.
I just finished it no more than an hour ago, a good 24 hours since I got it and have to say I can’t wait for the next book. She left us with cliff hangers and just these open plots and questions that are making me annoyed and wanting more.

The Thrill that Comes Once in a Lifetime or My First Flight

I scanned these 6 pages of a letter some guy wrote in 1937 describing his frist flight due to a business trip. A wonderful potrail of life in 1937 and how flying hasn’t really changed much since then.

Deadly Penguins
Looks like the Penguin Army is practicing how to hide under your car and follow you home and then kill you while you sleep.

The Revolution will be Downloaded

Today really shows the future of television in so many ways. First you got that new LBC show where they putting people to live in a farm it is live and annoying and most people in Kuwait and the Arab world will be watching it 24/7 and sending messages proclaiming their love to the fake actors.
The other show that is out is Battlestar Galactica Season 2 Episode 1, which I am currently downloading via BitTorrent, God bless BitTorrent. This show was just released today and already it is available online and currently has 1960 seeds, and 3709 peers. In geek speak that means a lot of people are downloading it and its available for everyone to enjoy.
This is the future cause I am not tied down to waiting for it to air in Kuwait, I can access it now and downloaded it when it is available and ready, and then watch is on my TV and that they are people dedicated to spend time recording it and having it available for no profit. But they are always issues, the Entourage I downloaded didn’t work at all and have to download it again. The iTunes music store people are willing to pay for good quality media at a reasonable price. This seems what Netflix is going to be doing soon with their on demand stuff that someone found earlier this week. If they plan to give their whole collection available for downloading I am so signing up. I will have access to their collection anytime and not have to deal with searching and downloading all over the net.
