History

Just dropped number 3 at the airport and he is off to the US. We did our standard simple good bye and sent him on his way. Surprisingly the airport was really busy in the arrivals dept. just tons of people. I didn’t notice which planes were coming in.

This is one of the coolest websites I have seen. It is all about metro/underground/subway systems around the world. As a world traveler adn freqent user of public transport this site is a gem of information and resources for when I travel.
It is also quote inspiring, anemia
like my trip in Prague I was impressed with the style of the stations and the lines. It was coordinated and each one had its own style for you to regonize it just by looking the design and not the name.
So who ever is designing the supposed mass transit system for Kuwait better look at the site and read up on the benifits of each system and their downfalls, and also that metro stations are beutiful. They have to deal with thousands of people everyday waiting and pacing to work and should have style to it. Cause if you are going to be spending that much money, at least make it look pretty.

Today with the Mandate we were discussing internet and when we first got on and such. Most of them were retelling times of 95/96 when the big boom happened in Kuwait with that, recuperation for me it was much earlier. I was on the internet back in 92/93 almost 12 years ago. Looking back it now as I just turned 27 last month really weirded me on how I grew up with this stuff.
I remeber when people in IRC used to use their real names, online when #kuwait just had like 8 people (I joined it only once in 93 I think and never went back), prostate 2400 baud was the standard, and porn came in 16 bit colors. I used Mosaic when it first came out. I remeber Yahoo when it was like cs.stanford.edu/something/yang.
I’ve grown up/with this internet thing. It has been a big influence in my life. Most if not all my good friends have some sort of internet relation to them, be it via chat, a con, or mutual friends.
It is a medium that I have latched to and dived into deeply at times. bo ghazi asked why am I doing my current job and work in the tech field since I know so much about it and pretty much live it. Purg said something much earlier in the day about me that I am a visionary. Thats my downfall I am too busy dreaming and thinking of the next step, or how to improve something. The ability to go and actually do it is tough, cause once I start doing I already have another idea in my head, or figured a way to make what I am working on better and have to scrap what I done and its like one long repeat.
One of my major thoughts is how to form a community in Kuwait. It is the basis of Kuwait Blogs, and qHate, and it was even before qHate, all these ideas and thoughts. It is quite troubling at times.
This why there isn’t any ads on KuwaitBlogs or Safat. People have told me a million times to make some money out of it, but I keep telling them I am not in it for the money. I didn’t start all this to make a profit, I started it to make things better.
Why am I writing this, I dont know. Maybe I am getting old, maybe I am sick of it, maybe I need to start learning origami.

  1. Dude, I said it before, and ill say it again, u r the reason blogs in Kuwait are as popular as they are, and all this during ur free time! Imagine what great things u can create if u were dedicated to this with the right team around u!

Dont think about it as profit making, its just making things better in the long term, like google or yahoo or any of the other companies that came out with a product or idea that revolutionized the world and made it the small global village that it is!

One of the ideas we discussed the otehr day could become part of everyone’s daily life 5 or 10 yrs from now!
