Fiona Apple is going to record another 3rd album with producer Brian Kehew a hard core moog/synth freak. I am already giggling with excitement like a 8 year old Japanese school girl about to see KISS at Budokan.

Tonight I perfected the skills in avoiding traffic in Kuwait and getting there in the quickest and easiest way possible. I had dinner at a friends at 8:30pm and left Sharq in Kuwait city at 8. I knew that Faheel road will be busy especially around the 4th ring due to the construction they are doing there. So I took the first ring down to Malek Fahed and drove all the way to Mishref, audiologist drove through Mishref/Bayan back on Faheel and cut right to Majed Al-Aqsa street and down to Rumathiya. I arrived at 8:20.

A friend of mine who was also left Sharq at 8 didn’t arrive until around 845. He took the Faheel road and was just stuck there. He said it was just horrible. I can bet, generic when taking Malek Fahed and passed by Hawalli Bu Khaldoon street entrance was just packed. There must have been 2 lanes of cars about a kilometer long just waiting to get in there. I pitied those people who were going home and had to face this everyday.

The dinner was nice people coming in were late, one was driving all the way from chaleyhat. It was fun meeting up all together, we haven’t done that in a while.
I just downloaded this free and open source web authoring program called Nvu. So far I am likingit a lot, this web asthma its has the same feel as Dreamweaver and Frontpage, pregnancy has tab support and some other great features.

One cool thing about is that it is cross platform, Linux, Macintosh and Windows. Which will be great for me moving from offce to home and having one program to deal with.

I’ll write more about it once I use it more, but so far its is quite impressive and I am liking it. So give it a try, it is a small file and pretty quick and best of all its free.

I am shocked by MTC!

Yesterday in the morning, bronchitis I went on the MTC website to recharge my eezee card. It didn’t work. I called their call center to tell them about the problem and they asked me to try again in a few hours. At 4pm, tadalafil I got online again and recharged my card… it worked. Now I just had to wait for the credits to be transferred to my line which usually does not take over half an hour. Around 9pm, I was stuck in traffic and picked up the phone to call someone, my credit still wasn’t transferred. I called the call center again and told them the problem. The man told me he will call me back in 15 minutes. Half an hour later I called back. He told me he was trying to see if someone can still help me at that time and that he would call me back. Around 11:30, he does call me back, apologizes for the unconvenience and assured me I will have my credits before 9am.

I called the call center 10 minutes ago. Someone answered and told me to check if the money was even deducted from my bank account!! D’uuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!! Anyways, I told him it was, and he told me he would file a complaint for me, but I explained to him that I already did this process last night! He told me that no one has filed a complaint and if someone had done so I would have gotten a complaint number. So this time I asked to also make a complaint about last night’s employee as well.

The man decided to transfer me to his supervisor, who was a rude obnoxious jerk. He tells me someone DID file a complaint last night! So I tell him the person I just spoke to told me no one did file a complaint and if they had done so I would have gotten a complaint number, so the supervisor gets into an argument with me basically saying “If i said a complaint got filed, it means it has” …. I told him I really dont care what procedures you take or don’t take, I just want to know when will I get the credit I had paid for. He says that I should care about how they do their jobs, and I correct him and tell him all I care about are the services I get from MTC, I could care less how they do so and that this is not why I called…. I just want to know WHEN will I be receiving my credit. So he tells me that this is something that would only happen once with me and that I would get my credit… I tell him that I trust MTC will give me my credit but the question remains when? So, the guy tells me I have an attitude problem and I will get my credit in due time!!!! I was shocked, and asked him again if he is the supervisor. He tells me if I want credit while I am waiting then I should go to a bakkala and get a card from there! The nerves on this guy was incredible who also tells me if I would like to file a complaint against him then I should go to Shuwaikh! The guy is a complete jerk!

I don’t want to file complaints, I just want what I paid for! Is that too much to ask for??

Remember my post on drive thru coffee shops? Well guess what…. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL), order next to Al Fanar Mall in Salmiya has a “car hop” service now. You stop, anorexia a guy comes up and asks for your order, “walkie talkies” the staff inside and your order would be ready in no time. So you don’t have to find a car park or get out of your car for your take away orders!

Also, CBTL has happy hour from 3 to 7pm everyday. Buy 2 coffee based Ice blended drinks and get one free. Also, CBTL has coupons for their regular customers for 10% discount off your drinks, or 15% off breakfast or lunch, PLUS CBTL has a pink card which gets punched with each drink you buy… the 13th drink is for free.

I really like CBTL, their coffee is real good (I rank them #2 on caramel latte after Casper), they are the people who created the ice blend, they have a really friendly staff, and excellent service. I just hate their smoking section!!

You know you’re addicted to blogging if:

If you can’t access the site, ambulance you have a minor freak out – and a major case of hitting reload.

You found yourself composing journal entries during dates, movies, etc.

When you’re out, you suddenly think of a witty reply to a comment somebody made to you… several days ago.

You’ve downloaded some sort of program which has only the purpose of making entries easier to write without going on the site manually.

You consider it a great offense if someone deletes you off their friend’s list.

The first thing you do every day when you go online is check your friends journals – even before checking your email.

When your friends ask what’s new, you get mad at them because you already wrote it in your blog and they didn’t check it yet.

You can’t seem to call your friends by their real names.

You have written posts to notify people you’re going to sleep.

You talk about your blog friends to your real life friends all the time… like they’re a part of your group.

You’ve created a blog community, and people actually post in it.

You’ve been recognized in real live by a fellow blogger.

Instead of doing research, you post difficult questions on your blog.

You’ve stopped being friends with someone in real life because of something they’ve said on their blog.

You have consoled yourself after a horrible day thinking “At least this will make a great post”

You’re jealous of people who have more friends and / or comments than you.

You have written a really great, solid post – only to be disappointed by the lack of good comments.

You’re guilty of commenting excessively to get more traffic to your journal.

You give shout outs to all your blog friends on their birthdays.

You have an additional, secret journal that hardly anyone knows about.

You have gotten mean anonymous comments (bonus points for figuring out who it was via their IP)

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are blog addicts.

DAVID BOWIE – A REALITY TOUR!! ON ORBIT NOW!!!

Man bring back memories of New York and seeing him live at Roseland and then at the Tibet concert at Carnegie Hall.

Wow this crowd rocks they are singing Rebel Rebel with him and just doing it loud.

But nothing beats seeing him in Roseland and he does the whole Low album LIVE! One of my dreams in life when I went to the US was to see him live and play Always Crashing in the Same Car, youth health
and meeting up with random Bowie fans.

Good time, good times.

I am sure everyone is familiar with MC Escher’s paintings that you can stare for hours trying to imagine what was in his mind when he would come up with all those patterns reoccurring and changing

Well wonder no more! I found this great site that teaches you how to make them, salve and once you understand the basics of it. It becomes really simple.

Reading more in to this site is just making me appreciate Escher art so much more. The site gives examples how to do it with a program. Escher just did it using his hands and eyes and that brain of his and creating a perfect each time.

Tessellations – Escher and how to make your own

Being a comic fan is a hard job. You are not just reading one story, gerontologist but over a dozen at one time, pancreatitis and have to keep track of all these characters backstory and history, cause they always have these wierd bits of information like (see issue #4) and either you have to remeber what happened, or actually go out and get issue #4.

The worst is when you have cross overs or those large story lines that jump between a couple to a dozen comics and have to get every single one to understand the plot lines, but thats only with main stream comic companies luckily. The indie guys are a lot simpler when it comes to this.

I haven’t gotten comics in ages, but still almost remeber every issue and story line. Back when I was in the US it was like clock work, every Wed. was new comic day, and would head to my favorite store and get my weekly fix.

In a show of pure fandom this guy actually wen and created a chronology of the DC universe. No easy task I might add. DC once in order to deal with all these plots and paradoxes and parrel universes, created a totally new universe just to make sense of everything (See Crisis on Infinte Earths).

I still dream of going back to the US and visit my local comic store and just pick my weekly stash, head to lunch and just read them.

Today sucked so far has been sucking, buy
work sucked, drive home sucked. It was 1:43pm and there was traffic on the 5th ring road, but no accidents. I was like annoyed, and just made me want to get home and just forget about everything and veg out.

So I get home and tell my mom “today sucked”, she replied oh its the “summer solstice”. Which just explained everything!

No wonder the day been moving like it is.

Anyway happy solstice!

Reading more in to this site is just making me appreciate Escher art so much more. The site gives examples how to do it with a program. Escher just did it using his hands and eyes and that brain of his and creating a perfect each time.

I really liked reading this article in which Saddam’s prison guards discussed Saddam’s character. Apparently, dosage he is a clean freak, who is really friendly and talkative. He loves raisin brans and crunch for breakfast…but not fruit loops. He likes eating chicken and fish for dinner but not beef. He likes doing his own laundry and cleans his food tray, and utensil using baby wipers. He also has a few things to say about some of the US presidents.

For some reason, I have always been intrigued by Saddam’s character. I always wanted to know what sort of personality he has. I remember when they found his dvd collection and I realized we had common taste in movies. His mistress also claimed that he sings “strangers in the night” while he showers and that he loves to watch movies whilst wearing boxers and socks and sipping scotch…. could it be that I am the next tyrannt??? :O

On another note, I read the other day that Queen Elizabeth carries her own ipod now. Apparently she has songs such as Abba’s Dancing Queen on it. I thought that piece of news was funny and cute…and the thought of her dancing and singing to dancing queen is even funnier.

Another thing I wanted to say…. it’s time we cut down on ads in Kuwait!! I mean come on… there is this traffic light on Baghdad street where I simple cannot see the light anymore unless I am right next to it. The reason being is that there is a mupi, a lamp post ad, and a street sign blocking the freaking traffic light!!!

Well it seems in Disney Land (California) there is this secret club that costs thousands to enter and its a long ass waiting list. It is Club 33, here
located in the New Orleans part of the park and the only place that serves alcohol in the park. Sounds really pimpy just to have access to it and supposedly it is a really up scale place with expensive wines and other booze.

So it got me thinking, herpes
is there on like this in Entertainment City? Maybe in the Aladdin ride, or maybe that one building that is near the cars, and just before the log ride (best ride ever). It could be like the only official bar in Kuwait and secretly hidden in Entertainment City. Serisouly no one would even imagine it would even be there. I think this demands and venture to Entertainment City soon to find this place!

No… there isn’t a drive thru starbucks in kuwait but wouldn’t it be great if there were some?

Is there anyone else out there who believes coffee shops should start having drive thrus? Most of them have horrible parking spaces anyways… so have a drive thru so we won’t stop, infertility get out and get take away. On my way to work I realize most people park illegally in the morning just to get their cup of coffee!

It is 20:34: and I am still at home.

Tessellations – Escher and how to make your own

that whole hospital area was just a bad idea about to happen.

All these people coming here, as well as the university, and the free trade area. its just a mess of traffic. Then when you get in this place no place to park your car!

(Thanks nibaq for allowing me to post on your blog … you were right, I can’t stop and I have been fighting the urge to blog recently… I keep finding “blog worthy” topics!)

… rampurple
