Orbit has some pretty good fall lineup that I really want to watch
on their America Plus channel.

One is Everwood about a single dad and his 2 kids a
n angsty teenage son and a young daughter, website
moving to Everwood, help
CO. It is in the middle of no where and
well he is starting his new life after the death of his wife. So what I like about it well the dialou
ge is really good. It has comebacks and those quick zips that make it entertaining and have you chuckl
e and the creative cast of charchters. You can really see a story here that just starting and seems to
have a lot of promise.

The other one that I just saw is Dead Like Me. I he
ard about this show alot but never seen it til now. It is about a girl who dies when she is 18 and now
a collector of souls before they die. The show kinda reminds me of “6 Feet Under”, hygiene
with the death and
the dysfunctional family part but what makes it different is that it takes itself lightly and is fun.
I also like the small paranormal stuff that goes on in the show, on the how and why things happen.

Two very distinct shows. Everwood clean cut and all about family and living in the wilderness of Color
ado. Dead Like Me with cussing and living in the city of Seattle. But both deal with death, one the de
ath of a mother, the other of a daughter so both has some philosphical talk around them. So if you got
Orbit try to catch those shows.

I am so sick of the port authority in Kuwait these guys are so bad and horrible even the security is f
ake as anything I ever seen and I won’t even go into details on the crappy way they do their searches
on containers, viagra sale because it is simply remove everything break and open everything and then put it back i
n.

I spent 4 hours running around trying to get all the signature and paperwork ready for the inspector t
o come and supervise me remove some samples from my containers. But he didn’t have time since “they we
re busy” and simply say “come back at 5”. I just busted my ass doing all this and you give me that rep
ly.

You know what they were “busy with” trying to do simple math. They had these razor blades that were il
legally imported (some how razor blades are the new hip thing to smuggle in to Kuwait). So they were w
riting a report and trying to figure our how to calculate it, order do they mention it was 6 large boxes, or
that there was 20 smaller boxes in each of the large boxes. Or that each of the smaller boxes had 10
sheets, and that the 10 sheets had 30 packets! They couldn’t calculate the total quantity I mean how h
ard is it to multiply! This to them was more important than helping a Kuwaiti businessman make some ho
nest money in Kuwait. When I was trying to help them with this, they told me to sit down, so I just st
ormed out of there since it would be a waste of time trying to reason with them.

Then there is the amazing security there. In the process of getting the signatures and paperwork I had
to go inside the port area. Since there was bumper to bumper traffic from the inspection point to the
main gate and I was in a rush to get the samples before 1, we said lets try the side one. Going there
the guard said we needed a permit and wouldn’t let us in. So instead of waiting in the car for traffi
c to clear up we walked to the main gate. I don’t think traffic even moved 50 meters for us to reach o
ur destination. Where we just simply walked into the port area. They never checked for our ids or aske
d for our papers or even looked at us! I could have walked back to the guard who denied us and tapped
his shoulder.

Just lots of crap and annoyance for nothing. I think they should just close down the Shuwaik port. The
re is no need for it there, not many ships stop there, and if they do the people and the facilities ca
n not handle the load. Then there is the fact that it is the free trade zone with shopping areas, and
mixing consumers with trailers doesn’t work.

At the end the mandoob went there at 5 and left at 7. I really feel sorry for him at times when he has
to go deal with these people. He tells me stories of their incompetence and their attitude at times.
This is why they are no business in Kuwait and corruption is rampant in the government. It is just a p
ain to do anything and some people dont find it worth it.

On VOA (96.9) they are now palying the classic rock show. Ed kowalski picks a classic band and goes th
rough their history of songs and any major events that occured before of after it. It is like a quick
musical history lesson.

Right now they are doing the Allman Brothers. What a kick ass band they knew how to do just some amazi
ng melodic tunes that really kept you moving. They are truely car music. You put them on and just driv
e and drive for hours just cruising down.

One of their songs Jessica is use for the BBC car show Top Gear.

Everytime I hear any classic rock I am reminded of my first roommates in the US. These guys were music
ans and rock lovers. I learned a lot about music from them for all I know was what Mtv showed me and w
hat I could buy from the tapes shops. I learned about all the kick ass bands from the 70s like the All
man Brothers, clinic Yes, this web
Eric Clapton and Cream even the orignal rock version of Layla. Stevie Ray Vaughn an
d just so many more.

We even would goto live shows every week down in DE bands they knew about or heard about and were frie
nds with, sale
and atleast once a month some big show came and we went to see that. My first ever show was
Ozzy Osbourne at Halloween. Now that was one way to pop your cherry to rock and roll, that was even my
first mosh pit. Truely an experience that I will never forget. I still remeber at the end of the show
he told people to do the most craziest thing ever and started playing Crazy Train and some guy climbe
d this like huge ass wall and screaming and shouting. I was just awe struck by the whole experience of
it all.

Those were some really kick ass times down there and dream of going back and seeing them and also some
live shows. Thats one of the things I miss from being the in the US going to see live shows and just
simple no name bands playing for some beer money.
